Salman Khan has become the number Uno celebrity in India. His revenue for the year stood at 270.33 crores. Were as his competitor Shah Rukh has almost 50 crores in deficit. The Forbes list of top 100 celebrities in India was released recently. The list comprises 100 Indian celebrities ranked based on their revenue and fame.
It is nothing new in the top ranking, since the establishment of this list either Shah Rukh or Salman occupies the top spot. This time Sultan (A wrestling based movie) gave Salman an upper hand over Shah Rukh. Salman’s revenue occupies 9.84 percent of total earnings by the top 100.
In the third position it was India’s test squad captain Virat Kohli who has taken the cap after MS.Dhoni’s retirement from test arena. This time he has topped MSD by 12 crores. India’s ODI and T20 captain MSD has got 5th position next to Akshay Kumar. His total revenue for the year 2016 was stood at 122.48 crores.
For the first time since the establishment of the list two women has entered the top 10 and it is Deepika Padukone with 69.75 crores. Her entrance into the Hollywood eternity and starring against Vin Diesel has earned her the much needed fame and revenue. Her counterpart Priyanka Chopra has got 8th position in terms of revenue.
The Dangal lead Amir Khan has got 14th position as there was no new releases for him in the year 2016. India’s sporting icon Sachin Tendulkar stood at number 7 and Hrithik Roshan at 10.
The Superstar Rajinikanth has entered the top 30 by occupying 30th position, Kabali made it possible. The new entrant of this year was India’s badminton storm PV.Sindhu. Her silver run at the Rio Olympics and her performance after it has given her 62nd position in the list. Rapper Badshah was the other new entrant his “Kaala Chashma” and “Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai” has given him 81st position.
