“No Man’s Land”, is the fourth novel in the John Puller series by David Baldacci. John Puller is one of the famous deductive characters created in recent times. Three previous books of this series have done immense business. The fourth book was published on November 28, 2016.
The novel has two different stories but there is a link between both the stories. The story is about John Puller’s investigation. Thirty years ago John Puller’s mother disappears in a mysterious way. A serious investigation results in no result. In the present day John receives a letter from his mother’s friend stating John’s father is the one who killed his mother. John is now a CID investigator he wants to investigate the case but was forced not to investigate by his department.
Paul Rogers a convict for murder has been released from prison after 10 years. He wants to vengeance someone who is responsible for his imprisonment. How both the stories meet and what happened to John’s mother? Who is the murderer? What’s Rogers’s story? That you have to find out by reading.
The novel is the best in the John Puller series, a page turner and typical detective story. The plot didn’t let down at any place. I should say the plot is believable, one can’t say it’s too dramatic. The narrative is simple and enjoyable. Even the time taken to set the story was short so the novel feels a racy one. Once the plot is set the story picks speed. The suspense over the murder and the involvement of Rogers everything planned to perfection and narrated well. On the whole a must read for thriller lovers and John Puller fans.
Goosebumps review: Investigation of the case and the twists will give you Goosebumps for sure. A well narrated detective novel.(4.2 / 5)
