Jack Reacher in “Night School” -Goosebumps review

night-school_hb_fJack Reacher the most spoken character recently is back. Lee Child’s famous character Jack Reacher was recently seen in the second edition of the movie starring Tom Cruise. Before the movie hype could settle in Lee Child has released his 21st book of the Jack Reacher series. The book is title “Nigh School”.

Jack Reacher series is famous all around the world. It is a story about an army officer Jack Reacher who goes into different adventures in each edition of the series. This time the story travels back in time. It is the year 1996, Jack is still in the army. He was sent to a training school, where he found that there is a problem going on. The NCS (National Security County) is forming a team of FBI, CIA and army officers to solve it. Jack takes his sergeant and they travel to Hamburg to unravel the crisis. Once they did it they were shocked to understand that the crisis is more dangerous than they thought. Their starts the adventure. How Jack solves it forms the remaining part of the story.

Once again Child has proved that he is a great story teller. The novel is one among the best of Jack Reacher series. The initial pages took time to stamp the characters and the story into us. But, once the story picks up its unstoppable. I find myself turning page after page to know what happened next. As usual Jack impresses as with his intelligence and action. The story will surprise you at times and the re-introduction of Neagley is added spice.

Child’s sentences and witty explanations at times are humorous. Few humorous dialogues will make you laugh. His narration does add up to the phase of the story. On the whole it is one of the best books of Jack Reacher series.

Even though the novel is good there are few things that should have been avoided. It seems that Child has an intention in making this a film. The story does seem a little like a movie script. Coincidences happen but not all together that’s a bit out of logic (We shouldn’t look for logics at times).

Lee Child’s Jack Reacher will live long, “Night School” is a proof.
