When the Chief Fell in Love review:

Tuhin is known for his political thrillers. He knows how to keep the audience hooked up throughout his book. When the Chief fell in Love is another fine example of his writing and creativity.

The story of When the Chief Fell in Love is similar to many books that speaks about love between couple from different countries. But, what makes Tuhin’s work unique is the background the story was set and the way he unfolds the story.

The story was set in the past as well as the future. The college life of Vihaan and Zaira was the highlight of the first half. The way Vihaan tries to win over Zaira’s heart was cute. The thriller element in the second half keeps the readers at the edge.

Characterization tops, as one can easily get attached to the characters. Especially, the lead characters. Vihaan and Zaira’s emotions have been penned well. Their situation and ideology were explained to perfection.

The novel is the perfect blend of both romance and politics. Tuhin, has understood the exact situation of Kashmir and narrates it through the lead characters. The political issue behind Kashmir can be understood by the readers. The fictional solution given to the issue was inspiring and lovable.

The lucid language makes it an easy read. A must read for beginners and quick read lovers. A light hear-ted romantic politics shouldn’t be missed.

Tuhin scores:
  • Romance and political thriller in perfect blend
  • The characterization is great
  • The solution given to the Kashmir issue is thoughtful
