Dangal the storm that took both the box office and the critics review has broken all the records and has become the highest grossing Hindi film of all time in India. The Aamir Khan starrer has surpassed Bajrangi Bhaijaan’s collection at the box office by Saturday. PK was the only barrier between Dangal and the highest grosser tag which it passed with ease on Sunday.
The film has become the first ever Hindi movie to cross Rs.350 crores collection in India. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that Dangal has crossed PK’s record of Rs.340.8 Crores and is the first entrant in the 350 crore club.
The Nitesh Tiwari directorial narrates the story of Mahavir Singh Phogat and his two daughters’ (Geeta and Babita) struggle to win gold medal for India in wrestling. The movie is based on the life of Mahavir Singh Phogat.
Aamir Khan the lead of the movie also the producer has done intelligent marketing which is a huge plus for the movie, his tag as Mr. Perfectionist continuous to rule Bollywood. When asked about the box office success of Dangal he said “I am not thinking about the numbers I am concerned about the audience’s reaction. I don’t have the interest in numbers. I just want the film to touch the hearts of the audience” (Interview by IANS).
The movie has crossed 174 crores in oversees market is still lagging by 140 crores to achieve PK’s life time worldwide collection of Rs. 790 crores. If Dangal continuous the dream run then it would be a calk walk to reach the top.
