Dangal ahead of Sultan

Dangal vs Sultan

Dangal has emerged as the biggest hit of 2016. Since the date of its release Dangal has been unstoppable in the box office. The movie is entering its third week and the box office collection has already reached new highs.

It’s natural to compare two movies especially if it portrays two biggest stars of Bollywood and both the film are based on wrestling. Dangal with Aamir in lead and Sulatn with Salman both the films have racked the film industry in 2016. The box office collection has been the talk after Dangal’s success. The movie has grossed 584.7 crores (426 in domestic and 158.7 in overseas markets) which is higher than the life time collection of Sultan (572 crores).

Dangal is expected to continue its dream run as there are no big movies hitting the screens in the upcoming week. The only set back might seen if Vin Diesel and Deepika starer XXX: Return of Xander Cage and Aditya Roy Kapoor’s Ok Jaanu hit screens.

The next mile stone for Aamir is to beat his own record set by PK which is the biggest blockbuster of India. PK’s collection was the highest for any Indian films which stands at whooping 792 crores. If Dangal continues the phase for another 2 or 3 weeks it is poised to over throw PK.

Note: The collection mentioned above is gross collection of the movie. The net income stands at 300 from domestic market. As in India there is no proper box office reporting system the above article is based on trade reports.
